4/12/2024 0 Comments Xinput test commandI don't know what pause is supposed to be. According to the game, start is supposed to be dodge, and back is supposed to be pounce. For the most part, the buttons work except right analog button is pause, start is pounce, and guide is dodge. jstest-gtk does have a mapping button which allows me to rearrange the position of the buttons and axes but doesn't seem to impact anything. So basically incorrect mapping that I'm unable to change. However this is what I see with jstest-gtk:Īlso my two trigger buttons always seem to be depressed. Still there are some incorrectly mapped buttons.Īccording to this article:, those are the default button mappings for the controller. Now mind you, even using sudo xboxdrv -silent maps the buttons incorrectly but the -mimic-xpad command fixes some of this. After this I restarted the computer and typed in terminal "sudo xboxdrv -silent -mimic-xpad" and it worked great.except some of my buttons were incorrectly mapped. I blacklisted xpad by going into /etc/modprobe.d/nf and creating a line that said "blacklist xpad". Sure enough it is when I input the proper command. I also installed jstest-gtk to make sure my controller is recognized by Ubuntu. So I installed the ppa and proceeded to install the driver. :-( So, I've been dabbling with Linux on and off for the 7 years, with a resurgence these past 2, and I've heard that xboxdrv is a much better solution. Also the blinking guide light doesn't turn on. The default xpad driver has all the buttons mapped weird with some axes not working properly. This driver works flawlessly under windows (as to be expected, lol), however in Ubuntu it's really bad. So as we all know xinput is the driver used in the 360 controller by microsoft and other compatible controllers like the logitech f710. I know this is not a steam issue directly but I was wondering if anyone could help me out since a lot of steam games have xinput support. So I've been noticing this strange issue with Ubuntu and Xinput compatible devices.
