4/13/2024 0 Comments Population density us china map![]() ![]() If anything I think we can anticipate that the denser areas will continue to become more dense as China pursues greater urbanization, land reform and as the population ages. population density has changed from the 18th century to the present. But during the countrys history, these numbers havent stayed fixed. Until the new census is conducted this data is the easiest to work with though of course using data 7+ years old has problems. At the moment, about 328 million people are living in the U.S, a nation thats 9.84 million sq km (3.53 million square miles). ![]() Another caveat is that this data is from 2010. Alternatively, you could show density more abstractly, such as in this compelling map of the Pearl River Delta in China. More than 200,000 people live on this 2 km 2 island. I'm sure I made a few errors entering the data and will go back and review it as I work on generating a cartogram based off this data to further highlight the most populated areas. Check out these downloadable population density maps of China As of 2020, there are a total of 1.4 billion people in China. This list is incomplete you can help by adding missing items. I was quite surprised by some of the things I found-I hadn't appreciated just how densely populated Guangdong Province is, especially Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Shantou which had the highest levels I found (5187, 3335, 2397 ppl/sq km, respectively). (Full size version hosted on my website, here). Province-level data is no use as well, so I collected the population and area at the prefecture level, generated population density and added it to prefecture-level GIS dataset which gave me the map at the top. But this still leaves out the countryside which can be densely populated but may not show up as well. ![]() Maps of China's rail and major highway networks created with Open Street Map data adds another layer, showing the major nodes (see maps here). About 80 of the country’s total population lives in the European part of Russia. The population is most dense in the European part of the nation, with a more tempered climate, most concentrating in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. However this still leaves a lot of uncertainty about where the major areas are within that space. The population density in Russia is just 8.4 per sq. I previously made a graphic of the famous "Heihe-Tongchang" line that roughly divides China into two parts - the West, with 6% of the Population and the densely populated east with 94%. Population density (people per km 2) by country. China carried out its fifth national population census on November 1, 2000. I have been wanting to gain a more detailed understanding of where China's population is located. ![]()
